PIE takes every stat that happens in a game and turns it into a single number that reflects a player’s overall contribution to team success. It’s not just points or rebounds—it’s efficiency, involvement, and impact, all wrapped into one clear score.
At SportsVisio, we’ve built tools that make this level of analysis accessible to every coach, not just those with a $1M data department. Inside Coach Mode, you’ll now see PIE scores and advanced breakdowns calculated from your game footage. Offensive Rating | ORTG | Total team points scored per 100 possessions while they are on court | 100*((Points)/(POSS) |
Defensive Rating | DRTG | Total Opponent points per 100 possessions while they are on court | 100*((Opp Points)/(Opp POSS)) |
Net Rating | NetRTG | The team's point differential per 100 possessions while they are on court. | OFFRTG-DEFRTG |
Assist to Turnover Ratio | AST/TO | The number of assists for a player or team compared to the number of turnovers they have committed | Player Assists/Total Turnovers |
Assist Percentage | AST% | The percentage field goals a player assisted on while they were on the floor | AST / (TmFGM - FGM) |
Effective Field Goal Percentage | EFG % | Measures field goal percentage adjusting for made 3-point field goals being 1.5 times more valuable than made 2-point field goals. | ((FGM + (0.5 * 3PM)) / FGA |
