Summer League is cooking

Lens 48: Wilson's 35-point debut, Dybantsa's signature shoe, and you can now just ask SportsVisio anything.

Summer League is in full swing in Vegas, and it has already been a blast. Well-timed for the World Cup wind down.

Caleb Wilson opened with a 35-point debut for the Bulls. Cameron Boozer answered with 23 by dragging Memphis with him in a 97-96 thriller. AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 pick, dropped 27 in his first game for Washington. Meleek Thomas hung 35 on the Heat for Cleveland. This rookie class can hoop, and they are not waiting their turn.

Keep an eye on the Zags too. Five former Gonzaga players are in Vegas this year, led by Ryan Nembhard running the show for Dallas and Graham Ike fighting for a roster spot in Golden State.

The shoe game showed up too. Dybantsa took the floor in a Nike carrying his own "Starboy" logo, which is not something most players have before they have played a single NBA minute. Mikel Brown Jr. laced up the new adidas BB.01 in "Orange Dusk." Two weeks in Vegas where a two-way rookie and a lottery pick play the same game, everyone is trying to prove they belong, and the kicks are a side event of their own.

Now do that for your own league

Watch Summer League, and someone in the booth instantly tells you a rookie's shooting split or how he is trending. You have never had that for your own gym. Now you kind of do.

We shipped an MCP server this month. In plain terms, you connect an AI assistant like Claude or Cursor to SportsVisio and just ask about your league. "Who is my most improved player this month?" "Give me a scouting report on Saturday's opponent." "Where does number 4 actually make his threes?" It reads your real data and answers, with the clips to prove it.

Jason Eadie runs the Suburban Dads League and happens to be one of its better players. He hooked up Claude and started poking at his own numbers. He found out he is a better shooter from the logo than from a normal three. He learned that from a sentence and a dose of curiosity, not a spreadsheet.

No API keys needed. No coding required. You sign in with your own account and it only sees what you can see. It is live at mcp.sportsvisio.com.

The Screening Room

Love & Basketball (2000)

We swapped the bookshelf for the couch this week. Monica and Quincy grow up next door to each other in LA, both hoopers, both trying to make it. He is the golden boy with the NBA dad. She has to fight for every inch of respect the men's game hands out for free. Gina Prince-Bythewood tells it in four quarters, and the last one still gets people. Ball is the setting. The movie is about the rest of your life.

Run your program like you've got a staff

Your league's stats also live on the web now at stats.sportsvisio.com. Leaderboards, standings, and player pages that give you more of what are you are looking for. Still in beta, shipping weekly. Reply if you want on the early list.

Keep hooping. We'll see you out there.
